Vili plays a key role in managing sustainability risks across Amer Sports. As an Enterprise Risk Management Analyst, Vili works closely with our brands and group functions to ensure that both minor incidents and major strategic challenges are addressed thoroughly and systematically.
Could you tell us more about your role and some of the projects you’ve worked on?
One of the key responsibilities I hold is conducting on-site risk surveys at different locations. We assess how factors like environmental risks—such as earthquakes, floods, or changing climate conditions—affect our production and operations. For example, the lack of snow can lead to fewer sales in skiing products, which impacts both our business and the industry as a whole.
How does sustainability influence your role at Amer Sports?
Sustainability risks, particularly around human rights and environmental concerns, are gaining importance due to regulatory requirements and reputational factors. We’ve seen a growing need to ensure that our raw material suppliers meet higher sustainability standards. Personally, addressing these challenges adds purpose to my work and requires staying informed about industry developments and new regulations.
How do you see your work contributing to Amer Sports’ long-term sustainability goals?
In risk management, sustainability is at the core of what we do. As both internal goals and external regulations, such as EU laws, evolve, we’ve raised our standards. Rather than viewing sustainability risks as challenges, we see them as opportunities to innovate and enhance our operations.
