Today March 8, 2023, Peak Performance announces the Trailblazer Program—a long-term initiative to support female adventurers and help realize projects and initiatives aimed at making the outdoors more accessible for women.
Women are underrepresented in mountain sports and outdoor activities. In their efforts to help remove barriers to participation, inspire more women to explore the outdoors, and make way for more female role models in the industry, Peak Performance today launched the Trailblazer Program.
“The Trailblazer Program was born out of an urge to help increase female participation in outdoor activities. By supporting projects that inspire women to explore the outdoors, we want to contribute to closing the gender gap,” says Sara Molnar, Brand President of Peak Performance.
The program is open for anyone to apply as long as the project aims at making the outdoors more accessible to anyone that identifies as a woman. A team of adventurers, consisting of Peak Performance athletes Hedvig Wessel, Elisabeth Gerritzen, Amanda Timm, and Brand President Sara Molnar will select which projects will receive support. The chosen projects will each receive up to 8,000 euros in value to drive the initiatives further.
